Hi there Beth,

Thanks for dropping by my website about Paris! How exciting that you will be in Paris in March – woohoo!!

March is considered to be winter, and as I don’t know which country you live in, or which temperatures you’re used to for winter, I can’t really say whether the Velib bicycles will be a suitable form of transport for you.

I can give you approximate temperatures, and I hope this might help you to work out whether you’d be happy getting around Paris by bike.

Approximate Temperature in Paris – March

in Fahrenheit degrees — Maximum approximately 52degF – minimum approximately 37degF
in Celcius degrees — Maximum approximately 11degC – minimum approximately 3degC
Rains approximately 10 days in March.

The Velib bicycle - with a basketIf you live in a country where folks cycle in these temperatures, and you’re used to that, then this could be ideal for you.

If you’re not used to temperatures like these, and are not used to cycling when it’s so cold, you might consider other modes of transport like the bus, metro (trains) or taxis.

I know these temperatures are waaaaay too cold for me (I live in Sydney, Australia) and I would much prefer the bus and metro. :-)

I hope this has answered your question, and I wish you Bon Voyage for a faaaabulous trip!

Do please let me know how you get on, what you enjoyed – I’d love to hear back from you.

Au revoir! All the best,
Teena!
