Tourist Attractions in Paris

Places to visit in Paris

The tourist attractions in Paris will keep you busy for weeks or even months – if you have that much time :-)

When I first moved to Paris I was wide-eyed and open-mouthed, seeing all those famous statues, monuments, streets that I’d only heard about or seen in magazines or on tv. Now here I was – LIVING IN PARIS – and wanting to see everything all at once, but also not wanting to look like a tourist. Well, you have to find the happy balance – and because I had years rather than days or weeks, I was able to see the attractions in Paris in my own sweet time, no rush.

But getting back to you – chances are you have a couple of days or a week or two at the most, and you’d like to know about some of those great Paris attractions, so – let’s get started!

Getting Around

Tourist attractions in Paris - PARIS PASS gets you into all the Paris attractionsThe first thing you need to think about is, “How am I going to get around?”. Paris is great for walking, but if you want to see a lot of tourist attractions, you’ll be exhausted after the first couple of hours.

I recommend you buy a Travel Pass of some kind, and a Museum Pass.

One which covers an amazing amount of stuff is the PARIS PASS, which includes:

  • 2, 4 or 6 day Paris Pass
  • free map of Paris
  • entrance to 60+ Paris attractions
  • free public transport [see the Paris Pass for more details]

No queues! No lining up to buy tickets! No waiting at all – just show the Paris Pass when you want to visit:

  • the Louvre
  • the Arc de Triomphe
  • Centre Pompiou
  • and many others.

Tourist attractions in Paris : Louvre and PyramidAre you one of those travellers who’d rather have a qualified guide-interpreter show them the tourist attractions in Paris, and give a guided tour along the way?

That’s OK – I can recommend a great Guided Tour of the Louvre!

No waiting in line! Book your Guided Tour of the Louvre ahead of time and save time by walking to the front of the queue with your Pass.

Your guided visit of the Louvre Museum in Paris will be centered around three world famous works: the Venus de Milo, the Victory of Samothrace and the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci at the beginning of the 16th century.

Since the phenomenal success of Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” book and film, the Louvre has increased in popularity even more so for visitors to Paris. By booking your place on this tour, you can skip the queues and maximize your time inside the world’s largest museum.

After the guided tour, why not explore the Louvre more, or walk to one of the many cafs close by and watch the world go by over a drink or a coffee?
