Wheelchairs and how to dial French phone numbers

I am having great dificulty in reaching hirers of electric wheel chairs in Paris. I have a number of adresses and telephone numbers, what is the correct way to dial the given number 01 43 71 43 99.

I am staying at an hotel, Ibis Paris La Defence Centre, Pont de Nueilly and I don’t know how to reach them by phone either (for help in finding the nearest hirer), their telephone number begins with (+33).

Ok I’m 75 and this is my first visit abroad my spine may be a problem but my brain can manage fine. I have been interested in Art History since I was seventeen and those French galleries have tempted me for decades!

Yours extremely hopefuly.

Answer: Wheelchairs and how to dial French phone numbers

Hi Irene,

What a great time you’ll have in Paris!

You have some numbers to hire wheelchairs, and what you’re really looking for is to understand how to phone the phone numbers you’ve been given.

OK – if you were dialling from outside of France you’ll dial you international long distance number first, then 33 for France, and then the rest of the number.

As you’re already in Paris, you will dial the numbers WITHOUT the 33 (for France).

So – if you were in the UK, you would dial this:

Long distance number + 33 + 01 43 71 43 99

Because you’re in Paris, dial this:

01 43 71 43 99

Hope this helps, and hope you have a simply marvellous time at the art galleries in Paris!

Enjoy,
Cheers
