Le Pain aux Olives
Olive bread – delicious and savoury, perfect for a picnic! Made with French rye and *corn flours, olive oil, green olives with the addition of yeast, salt and water.
*Please note: I have it on great authority from one of my readers (Michael) that “cornflour” isn’t used in the Cordon Bleu bakery school in Paris — they insist the traditional recipe uses unbleached wheat flour (farine de ble non blanchie).
Provencale – Pain aux Tomates
You may not find this bread everywhere, but if you do, you must try it. Made with sun-dried tomatoes, delicious and has a taste of Provence about it. Take it on your picnic, with additional sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil – yum!
