Paris City Map 75006 : 6th District : 6eme Arrondissement

Paris City Map 75006: Luxembourg Gardens, Latin Quarter.

Ile de la Cite is the gorgeous island in the River Seine, which is steeped in history as the place where Paris started its life.

You’ll find wonderful gardens in this district, and I personally love to visit the church Saint Chapelle on Ile St Louis (pronounced “Eel San-Loo-wee”), which has fond memories for me.

If you get a chance browse around the Place St Andre des Arts area – I love it around here, ancient buildings, bustling shops, galleriers, eateries, cobblestone streets – what’s not to love? I stayed in a fabulous centuries-old hotel here a few years back, and it was delightfully quirky and steeped in history, with life bustling right outside the door, right in the thick it.

Wonderful historical churches and streets highlight this part of town, which is also linked by gorgeous bridges from Ile St Louis (the island in the middle of the River Seine) to the left and right banks on either side.

I do love an open-air market, and you’ll find a few good ones in the 5th arrondissement.
