How did I learn French?

When I was in high school I learnt French for a semester from a German teacher with a wonderful French accent (so I discovered many years later).

When I moved to Paris around the age of 30, my French was almost non-existent, although I could read French as though I knew what I was reading :-) My pronunciation was good – I just didn’t know how to communicate. I signed up for a one-month course at a college in Paris, and had lessons for 4 hrs every morning. At the end of the course, I could communicate with all the other students in my class (from many different countries), and could survive quite well. I hope you have a wonderful time learning French in Paris too!
